Buckaroo Banzai and Stevesie Zissou assemble their ragtag teams for the ultimate confrontation of marching hipsters. Jeff Goldblum was trying to undermine Zissou all along because "Alistair Hennessey" was really just the cover for New Jersey! You have to overlook or explain the Red Lectroid aliens apparently fighting for Team Zissou, but irregularities like that shouldn't be a problem for fans of either franchise.
